Blue SteelCo designs and fabricates replacement parts and shop equipment for railroad car departments. The work comes directly from car shop needs: a part that keeps failing, a job that takes two people when it should take one, a tool the industry simply does not make. We build it in welded steel, made in the USA, to the department’s print or to ours.

• Railcar ladder handhold brackets — replacement safety appliance brackets
• Railroad handhold straightener — straighten bent handholds in place instead of replacing them
• EOC carrier — end-of-car device handling
• Steel service and supply carts — carry parts and tooling to the repair track
• Locomotive switching steps — FRA 49 CFR 231.30 bottom steps with UPRR store stock numbers
• PTC sheet metal and Positive Train Control fabrication

How Custom Car Department Work Happens

Most of this catalog started as one shop’s problem. A car department sends a sketch, a broken part, or a description of the job; we design the fix, fabricate it in welded steel, and ship it. If your department has a recurring repair that needs a purpose-built part or fixture, that is exactly the work we are set up for.

Blue SteelCo has served rail customers since 1997 and is eRailSafe verified for Class I facility access. Equipment is in service at Union Pacific, Amtrak, Norfolk Southern, Kansas City Southern, Watco, and Tacoma Rail facilities.
